Why do people hate me when I am kind to them and have done nothing wrong?
It can feel very painful and confusing when we have done nothing wrong, even shown kindness, yet people still react negatively.
Possible reasons:
Sometimes people project their insecurities, jealousy, or past hurts onto others. Our kindness might highlight what they feel they lack.
Some people are suspicious of kindness, especially if they have been hurt before, they may think you want something in return.
What you consider kindness might be misunderstood or interpreted differently by others.
People in work, family, and social circles dislike others not because of who they are, but because of group jealousy, politics, or misplaced loyalty.
Often their reaction says more about their inner world than about you.
We can’t control how people feel, but we can control our integrity. If our kindness is genuine and consistent, the right people will value it over time.
