There are two pure waters - one is tears and the other is saliva- both have extraordinary healing power: Tears and saliva are both mostly water, but what makes them “extraordinary” is the biological molecules dissolved in them:
Tears contain not just salt and water, but also proteins like lysozyme, lactoferrin, and immunoglobulins. These have antibacterial and antiviral properties, helping protect the eyes from infection and supporting the healing of the delicate surface of the cornea.
Saliva is rich in enzymes (like amylase), antimicrobial peptides, growth factors, and antibodies. It promotes wound healing in the mouth by speeding up tissue repair, reducing bacterial growth, and keeping the tissue moist. That’s why small cuts inside the mouth often heal faster than those on the skin.
So while both are “pure waters” in a poetic sense, their real power lies in the complex mix of natural healing agents they carry.
